Hi there! I’m Jana, a professional fine art and wedding photographer who blends photojournalism and creative portraiture to create meaningful, artful images for you.
Before I specialized in weddings I was primarily chasing landscape images. Today, I adore exploring parks and private farms looking for unique settings to photograph your wedding day and engagement session. If you are looking for an artistic approach with a significant emphasis on using natural settings, I would love to chat more about your photography needs. I look forward to connecting with you soon!

I first enjoyed using my camera while exploring landscapes, attempting to tell the story of where I had just been. The beauty of nature continues to inspire me as I capture the story of your wedding day.
I founded Jana Scott Photography in 2008 while working as a gallery manager for a very talented photographic artist, named Bill Coleman. I immediately had clients and I'm so grateful for their trust to create so many inspiring, authentic, and heartfelt images over the years.
Please send me a note and tell me your story!
My husband Allan and I have been married for over 10 years! He is my best friend and I love him so much more now than the day we were married. We recently have been blessed with a little girl who we named Brynn. Allan is a Christian recording artist and travels with his band and ministry, Found & Favored. I spend my weekends either at weddings, with Brynn, or at an arts fest selling my fine art body of work.
If you find yourself at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in July, do stop and see my both on Allen St. After having Brynn, I haven't resumed traveling to juried shows around the country but I am getting restless for a drive to Chicago...
You can see my rust images here.

My daughter and husband are at the top of my list!! Some of my other favorites include good friends, elegant handcrafted things, purposely creating art, reading 5 books at the same time, gardening, fresh flowers in my house, cooking (and eating great food, especially the eating part), riding horses, and learning new things. I also love to explore, whether it is the woods or a new town. And, I have a special passion for rescuing and repurposing antiques.
Jana photographed our wedding in September 2014 in PA and I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. She was exceedingly professional, organized, thoughtful and accommodating. My husband and I live overseas and Jana was flexible enough to work with us over the phone or email leading up to and after the wedding date. During the planning phase, she thought of details that hadn't even crossed our minds, saving us time and hassle down the road. On the day of the wedding she arrived at the venue several hours before the ceremony to plan out all of the locations for photos so that everything went smoothly and we got the maximum amount of time with our guests afterwards. We didn't know what we wanted at all in terms of photography and completely relied on Jana's suggestions and artistic vision. Jana takes pride in the quality of her work and will go the extra mile to make sure her clients are satisfied. We couldn't be happier with the results and we love our photos! I would recommend her to anyone.
"I am sitting here in tears because of you. You captured our friends, our family, our life....us. Words could never describe how beautiful your art work is, and how brilliantly your creativity shines. Thank you so much for everything you have done and for giving us the greatest gift we could ever ask for. Much Love,"
Words cannot even begin to describe how pleased we are with our experience with Jana. Having never been a part of planning a wedding before, we were a little overwhelmed with what to look for, booking vendors, sticking to our budget and planning the wedding day itself. When we came across Jana’s website, we were immediately impressed with her talent in capturing natural, yet breath-taking photos. The wedding package she offered was exactly what we were looking for and offered more than what other photographers did for similar pricing. After meeting Jana in person, there was no question that we wanted Jana as our wedding photographer. She was honest, flexible, professional and passionate (not to mention so incredibly talented!). Also, as we were planning she offered great recommendations for our other vendors, whom she had worked with before.
I love spending a few hours with my couples during a relaxed and fun outdoor session. We will chose locations that are sentimental or have a variety of beautiful natural backdrops. My favorite sessions take place in the woods, on private farms, near water or most anywhere else with a natural setting. Shooting on the Penn State campus is also a lovely choice with many options for both natural and architectural settings.
Thank you for your interest in my work! I offer one wedding collection that can be customized before or after your wedding. I have designed this collection to include all day coverage. This flexibility allows us to get the best lighting from your chosen locations and a relaxed day that you can enjoy.
Thank you for your interest in my work! I’m a professional fine art and wedding photographer who blends photojournalism and creative portraiture to create meaningful, artful images for you. Blending these styles is the art of capturing emotions that can tell your story in a real and beautiful way. Training my eye to be a keen observer of beauty in the simple things has helped me develop a photographic style that evokes lasting emotion.
My goal for every wedding is to capture images that you will frame or hold in an album and someday share with your children and grandchildren. My hope is that your images emit the same emotions you felt at that moment in time. And that you remember the rich relationships that surrounded you on such an important day, feel the hugs from your loved ones, see their happiness for you, and remember the best of your wedding day through my work.
It’s very important to me to get to know you as a couple and connect on a personal level. A connection with you allows me to truly tell your story. Equally important to me is working with you to create tangible mementos you will enjoy long after the wedding day. Printing your photographs is the next step in my role as your photographer. Regardless of whether it’s an heirloom album or a wall gallery of archivally matted prints, I still believe in printing, holding, and viewing these memories in fine-art presentations. I take great care in crafting images for you and the same care in printing your images so that they will last for generations. Please take a moment to view my featured album designs.
It takes a lot of time and energy to achieve a creative vision of your wedding day and I want to work with you to make the process of integrating beautiful photography as easy as possible. Before your wedding, we will have several meetings (at least two) to talk through your plan for the day. I will help you craft a timeline that meets your vision beyond the photographic sessions so that you can relax, enjoy the day, and just be with your most important people.
I'd love to show you more of my work and most importantly hear about who you are and what beautiful things you are dreaming up! Visit the next steps and let's connect soon!
I’m delighted my work has caught your eye. Thanks for thinking of me in one of the most important decisions you can make for your wedding. I would love to be with you and play a small part in your special day. I look forward to working together and bringing art and life into your images so that you will always be able to look back and remember how it felt to be there.
I can offer a consultation at my studio or over the phone before you decide if you'd like to work together. After our meeting, I will hold your date for one week while you decide if I'm the one! My studio is located just outside of State College in the charming town of Lemont. You will find me on the corner of Pike and Mary Streets in a beautiful old Victorian house. My studio is in the lower level and the stairs can be accessed from Mary Street.
