Fin & Feather Lodge Wedding

Over the years, Mikia and Nathan have always loved going to Seven Springs. It’s become such a special place for them, especially after Nate chose to propose there! Since their first stay at Fin & Feather Lodge, Mikia has been admiring the venue. She intentionally planned her wedding to create a day that allowed them to enjoy the space as much as possible.
The classic teenage rom-com about the cutie boy next door really DOES have a fairytale ending! At least, it does for Mikia and Nathan. Growing up in the same town, their paths were always crossing. As kids, Nathan played soccer with Mikia’s brother. In middle school, they used to bump into each other at track meets and basketball games. Then, just before starting high school, Nathan’s family decided to move closer to town and they ended up just a few houses down from Mikia’s family! They soon started dating during their freshman year of high school and 13 years later, they are husband and wife.
They spent most of the day outdoors, starting with sunrise yoga and an intimate outdoor ceremony. From getting ready in the morning, to a luncheon, and a big reception, Mikia and Nathan utilized everything Fin & Feather had to offer, and every location was as lovely as the last.

Nathan and Mikia set the tone for the day with a private vow exchange before heading down to their ceremony. Surrounded by their closest family, and their best dog Riggs, Nathan and Mikia said their official “I do’s” in the most beautiful ceremony. Just like that, the moment Mikia had dreamed of since she was just a little girl had arrived and it was surreal. The day continued in such a calm and relaxing way with a family luncheon and a little siesta to regroup before the party got going.
As more and more guests arrived for the reception, Mikia and Nathan were so excited to greet everyone as husband and wife for the first time. Guests traveled from all over the country to celebrate with them at Fin & Feather Lodge! The night was full of love, laughs, and dance moves. When it finally came to an end, Mikia and Nate took a moment to themselves to share a private dance and soak it all in.

Advice from Mikia for Future Brides
- Ensure there are scheduled breaks (like a siesta!) built into the day. The intimate moments where we could sneak away from the hustle and bustle were my favorite moments of the day.
- Hire a planner to help with the details. It was a lot to figure out and take on without any relevant experience or knowledge of weddings/event planning.
- Pick Jana’s brain more! She was the whole package and it was obvious she’s had a great bit of experience with weddings, even beyond the photography.
