I have known Becca (aka bunny) since 2004. Her family and I attended Christ Community Church for many years together and I have always loved their beautiful family. Jeremiah and I met during a Senior portrait session I did with Becca. Even though I don’t “do” Senior portraits I agreed to shoot a very avant-garde session for Jeremiah. If you know him…then donning jedi robes and explorer khaki garb in portraits would not surprise you either!
During Becca’s time at Grace Prep High School I was a leader in the CCC youth group and had the privilege of leading a bible study group she attended. I learned first hand of her sweet and endearing nature. We had talks about Jeremiah and I was secretly hoping for the wedding someday. Yes…I was! After a few years of not being “in the loop” I learned of their engagement through facebook. I was so thrilled for them!!
I might have made their journey sound simple yet I know they had some trials and waiting to do. They emerged from that time with a beautiful relationship based on solid trust.
Now on to the wedding!! Before the ceremony the couple wanted to pray together, not “see” one another, hold hands and hear each other’s prayers. Becca and I thought of an image we had seen by Josh Elliot. Since Becca and Jeremiah were getting married in the building where their relationship started…we picked a familiar corner and they prayed. It was such a sweet moment…
The rest of the day was complete with tears, laughter, a recessional to a pirate song (complete with pirate hat), a broad sword, coca-cola bottles for the toast, yummy homemade food, a beautiful first dance song, lots of dance moves and a sparkler exit!
I was so incredibly happy to have been at this wedding. My heart was full the entire day! Thank you for sharing your lives with me, Becca and Jeremiah. I love you both.
